5 Cities You Should Visit this Spring

Louisville, Kentucky

The annual Kentucky Derby makes spring one of the most popular times of the year to visit Louisville. The event lures spectators from all over the world to watch the races and sip on the famous mint juleps. Even if you’re venturing to the city without scoring a ticket to the Derby, you can visit the Kentucky Derby Museum year round. Another Louisville highlight not to be missed is the Big Four Pedestrian & Bicycle Bridge at the Waterfront Park, a beautiful way to take in the city and its surroundings.

Shanghai, China

Shanghai is continuing to grow rapidly, with acclaimed restaurants and bars, world-class shopping, and five-star hotels. May is the best month to visit, because the spring rains have passed and the summer humidity hasn’t yet set in. Spring is also the ideal time to visit if you want to avoid the summer crowds visiting the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Peak season for New England tends to start around Memorial Day, so head to this seaside retreat in early spring to take advantage of the relatively empty beaches. Cape Cod is the perfect destination with a big group, as there are activities for every interest, such as whale-watching in Provincetown, visiting the New England Fire & History Museum, or touring the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory. Of course the best reason to visit Cape Cod is the seafood — from lobster rolls to fried clams and crab cakes to fresh oysters!

Lille, France

Just one hour from Paris sits this charming European town. Lille is a premiere arts destination and the current spring weather is ideal for strolling around and on the cobblestoned streets. The city government has invested a lot of money into indoor and outdoor art exhibitions throughout the Lille; there’s also a new modern art museum. This town has no shortage of great bistros and cafes, as well as indie boutiques and gift shops.

Monaco

Spring is Monaco’s most action-packed time of the year to visit, as it’s when the Grand Prix zooms into town. From gambling at Monte Carlo’s famous casino to renting luxury convertibles, there’s plenty to do is this gorgeous sea-side city. The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is a must-see; this museum is built on the side of the mythical Rock of Monaco and is over a century old. From the aquariums to the collections of Natural History, the museum offers visitors a unique learning experience to know, love, and protect the oceans.
