Hilton Worldwide has partnered with IBM to create the first Watson-enabled robot concierge. “Connie,” named after Conrad Hilton, was designed specifically for the hospitality industry. Connie can assist guests by telling them information about the hotel they’re staying at and attractions in the area by accessing information from Watson and WayBlazer. With each interaction, Connie improves over time. Connie is being piloted at the Hilton McLean in Virgina. Because the robot concierge is still in pilot mode, it will take three to six months to gather enough feedback. After that, Hilton says it will “weigh its value against its performance goals.”
