Carnival Corporation’s new cruise line brand Fathom is set to have its inaugural sailing on April 10th. Using the slogan “travel with purpose,” Fathom is geared towards guests wanting to combine travel with volunteer opportunities. The sailings will be on the 704-passenger Adonia, with weeklong, Sunday to Sunday itineraries from Miami to the Dominican Republic. Guests will spend three days in the Dominican Republic and have the opportunity to participate in a number of volunteer programs. The ship will dock in Puerto Plata, so when not volunteering, guests can enjoy the beaches, windsurf, snorkel, or explore various historical sites. Fathom is also hoping to offer itineraries to Cuba in May, focusing on people-to-people interactions.
