Hilton Worldwide has introduced digital check-in at 400 of its hotels since the technology debuted last year. The hotel chain plans to expand the service to another 300 hotels by the end of this year. Guests staying at one of Hiltonโs digital check-in enabled hotels are able to skip the front desk and open their hotel rooms with their smartphones, saving them time and energy. The feature also gives guests the additional bonus of being able to select their specific room, versus being assigned one upon check-in at the front desk.
Hilton already has more technological advancements on the horizon for next year, as it plans to expand digital check-in globally, and will also implement the ability for multiple members of a traveling party to be able to open a hotel room door with their smartphone.
