American Airlines to Debut International Premium Economy

The world’s largest airline, American Airlines, will be the first US carrier to offer a true premium economy cabin. The new class won’t just offer passengers extra legroom and additional seat recline. The new seats will have a seat pitch of 38” and will be noticeably wider. Passengers in the premium economy cabin will have the luxury of being comfortable during the duration of their flight, as the new seats will come equipped with an extendable footrest, a leg rest, and adjustable headrests.

The perks for passengers flying in premium economy don’t stop there. Each seat will have an individual in-flight entertainment system with a larger screen than what is offered in coach. Passengers will also receive noise-reducing headphones, amenity kits, printed menus, as well as complimentary beer, wine, and spirits.

The new seats will make their debut on the airline’s new Boeing 797-9 Dreamliners, which will begin flying international routes in November from Dallas-Fort Worth to São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport.
