APP OF THE MONTH – WIFOX

Save yourself frustration the next time you find yourself at an airport searching for the free Wi-Fi credentials and download the WiFox app on your device before your next trip! WiFox will conveniently show you a map of airport Wi-Fi and lounge passwords from around the world, updated in real-time with information verified from other travelers, pilots, and other reliable sources.

How does it work? Users around the world are able to add password information from airports as they travel. Once passwords are verified, they’re added to the app’s map, which is updated in real-time when you have an Internet connection. Of course, since the point of the app is to be able to connect to the Internet, the app works offline and will still display airports and their login’s, referred to as “Hotspots,” for you on either a map or list view.

The Hotspot information you will receive includes airport, location in the airport or lounge, network name, password, and any other details that might help you get online, such as “Sit at Gate 47 for the strongest signal.” Additionally, users can copy passwords directly without having to memorize and re-type them into their devices’ Wi-Fi settings. There are also tips on time restrictions, indicating which access points have time limits to its users, and how to get around time-based restrictions, if possible. Thanks to the app’s rating system, password information is current and accurate, letting users know how fresh and reliable a given access point’s password information is based on a color coding system.

WiFox is available for download for iOS on the App Store, for Android on Google Play, as well as Amazon for $1.99.
