Travelers looking for a little exercise before their flights received some good news this week. Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) has opened the first airport gym. While travelers have had the opportunity to use meditation rooms at Seattle-Tacoma or yoga rooms at SFO, this is the first pre-flight, post-security gym available to travelers. The 1,200 square foot fitness center is located between Concourses D and E, and features cardio machines, free weights, and changing rooms with showers. A day pass costs $40 and includes Lululemon gear and Brooks running shoes. It is open every day between 5 AM and 10 PM local time. The gym is run by Oregon-based startup Roam Fitness, which plans to expand its offerings to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) by the end of the year. Future gyms are also planned in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, and Miami.
