Expected to fully roll out in 2018, Africa will soon debut its first high-speed train. The trains will reach speeds of 200 mph, as they transport passengers from Tangier to Casablanca, cutting typical travel times by more than half. The double-decker train cars were funded by governments in Morocco, France, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. After the $2 billion project is complete, it is expected to help ferry passengers from city to city in a little over 2 hours. Fares for the train have not yet been announced, but they will likely be more expensive than the current $20 one-way train ticket.
