Santa Barbara County, CA: Often overlooked by its northern neighbors (Paso Robles, Sonoma, Napa), Santa Barbara County boasts incredible wines and even better scenery. Finger Lakes, NY: The Northeast doesn’t get a lot of recognition as a wine destination, but the Finger Lakes region in southern New York is going to change that. Over the last few years, numerous great wineries have burst on to the scene, making it one of the fastest-growing wine regions in the US.

Charlottesville, VA: Thomas Jefferson began planting French grapes at his Monticello home during his presidency. The region now boasts more than 300 wineries, specializing in viognier, petit verdot, and cabernet franc.

Walla Walla, WA: Located on the sunny and dry (east) side of the Cascades, Walla Walla has made a name for itself as home to some of the best Bordeaux varietals in the US. With its spectacular scenery and large bird migrations, Walla Wallais the perfect spot for an outdoor picnic and bottle of red.
