Indianapolis International Airport (IND) was once again named the Best Airport in North America (serving more than 2 million passengers annually) by Airports Council International. This marks the fifth consecutive year that IND has received this honor, which is based on passenger feedback.
This honor puts Indianapolis in some very select company, as over 320 airports from 80 countries are included in these rankings. IND also took home the award for best airport by size and region in North America. Only airports serving 5-15 million passengers per year are considered in this category.
To determine its yearly rankings, Airports Council International surveys a minimum of 1,400 passengers at each airport and does so while passengers are queued at boarding gate areas when airport performance is at the front of their minds. The survey is quite in-depth and covers 34 different aspects of a passengerโs airport experience.
