Amid the crowded lines and incessant delays, there is still one silver lining to the long-haul flight experience: your judgment-free chance to kick back and binge-watch your favorite series completely uninterrupted. As technology becomes more personalized, customers are now raising their expectations of the in-flight media experience.
Air France is now adhering to the consumerโs ever-evolving standards with its latest announcement of its upcoming in-flight virtual reality entertainment. Air France is currently testing an entertainment system that uses virtual reality headsets to offer fully immersive 2D and 3D films to its Business Class customers. The VR headsets are created by SkyLights, a start-up that has received investment from Air France. Customers traveling in Business Class onboard select A340โs can try this new form of in-flight entertainment for themselves.
SkyLights has distribution deals with major players in the entertainment space, including 20th Century Fox, Dreamworks, National Geographic, Lionsgate and BBC, soon making such content widely accessible.
