American Airlines (AA) will operate seasonal non-stop flights to both Christchurch and Auckland next year.

Flights from Los Angeles to Christchurch, located on New Zealand’s South Island, will begin in October 2020 and operate three times per week using Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Service will conclude in March 2021. American’s focus on Christchurch will create an interesting connecting option for passengers, with codeshare partners Qantas and Jetstar offering onward service to Wellington and Melbourne.

AA will also offer seasonal service from Los Angeles and Dallas-Fort Worth to Auckland, New Zealand’s North Island hub, in 2020.
